We have just sent off our September Bean Bar You subscription boxes! We are really excited about the chocolates we’ve included this month and can’t wait to hear back from our subscribers about the specific bars we selected for them.
Our four producers this month are:
– Dick Taylor (United States)
– Sirene (Canada)
– Wellington Chocolate Company (New Zealand)
– Daintree Estates (Australia)
Dick Taylor makes beautifully smooth chocolate with an intense chocolate taste that isn’t overwhelming. The Belize bar has the complex flavours and slight astringency that is characteristic of beans from Belize.
The Sirene bars from Canada are renowned for their creaminess and smoothness – even the dark bars have a delicious creamy texture. While we have their full range on our website, we included the duo packs (dark milk and Tanzania/Ecuador) in our subscribers boxes this month – they include two bars made using the same techniques and processes, but with different beans. This allows the true flavours of the beans to really shine!
Wellington Chocolate Company have a wide range of flavours available, but we decided to send out their simple 77% Samoa or coconut milk bars, so that subscribers could sample the pure flavours of their chocolates. Note that although it is called a milk chocolate, because it is made using coconut, it is actually a vegan chocolate, making our vegan subscribers very happy!
Finally, we were delighted to include a chocolate that is not only made it Australia, but using beans that are grown in Australia. The Daintree Estate bars (we sent out signature dark and milk bars) come from the cooperative enterprise set up in the Daintree region and are distinctly Australian.
If you’re not a subscriber but would like to try any of these bars, head to our website where you can buy some individually, or subscribe to get a new selection every month! Any questions or feedback get in touch by email or on social media (links below).
