September saw us celebrate awards for Jasper & Myrtle at the 2018 Academy of Chocolate Awards. Among others, they also won a Bronze medal for their packaging and really deserve it. The Nunu farm bars are both fabulous and won awards in 2017. We also tasted their wonderful Wakame and sea salt bar – one of our favourite inclusion bars.
We also tried bars from two makers focused on the organic aspect of sustainable cacao. Tobago Estates cacao launched a new bar from their sister plantation Rose Hill Estates. Duane and the team have recently completed the process of organic certification for these Trinidad and Tobago farms.
The other organic maker is AMMA from Brazil. AMMA is a certified B-Corporation (one of only a few chocolate companies) which means they are legally committed to ensuring they maintain environmentally and social responsible perspectives in their business decisions.
Flint chocolate brought us some wonderful flavours – with a strong coconut bar & a bar made with ground almonds – the bars both fit exceptionally with the feel of the packaging and can whisk you away to a tropical paradise.
