Costa Esmeraldas is a single estate cacao farm owned by the Salazar family on the north-wester coast of Ecuador. The Daniel O’Doherty helped transform this old plantation into Ecuador’s premier cacao production. The agro-forestry approach is used oranges, limes, lemons, plantain, bananas, guayaba, and papaya, grown in and around the cacao to reduce erosion. Their new fermentation and drying facility has enabled even better quality of cacao than before! Look for notes of: lemon, bread, cherries, balsamic vinegar, brownies & green bananas.
David and Cynthia started their small, funky chocolate factory in a former whisky distillery in 2003. After making their first batch they knew they were onto something special. They now have a small team, 2 stores and a network of wholesale partners. Their chocolate curiosity means they also have an extensive range of truffles, ice creams, cookies, cakes and hot chocolates made with their chocolate.
