This bar features award winning cacao from the Mava Ottange plantation in Madagascar. On the palate it is instantly recognisable: a distinctive spicy and nutty cocoa taste and vibrant citrus fruit flavours, with an exuberant tropical fruit finish. A crowd favourite.
Chocolataria Equador was founded in 2009. It's a unique tree-to-bar collaboration with the Roça de Santo António plantation in São Tomé and Príncipe. A joint company was formed to link the two partners together and "guarantee the vertical integration of the entire transformation process of the fine chocolate, from the plantation to the chocolate". The islands were known the early 1900's a the 'Chocolate Islands' and were the worlds largest producer of cacao before the west African nations took over.
